In 2007, Jean-Paul Belmondo and his siblings donated their father Paul Belmondo's complete collection to establish this museum, which opened in 2010.
The museum presents figurative sculpture from the 20th century through exhibitions and educational programs, including tactile experiences for visually impaired visitors.

The museum features a reconstructed artist studio that displays Paul Belmondo's original tools, materials, and working environment.
