The stone building of Pension Gloanec stands at 5 Place Paul Gauguin, featuring two ground floor rooms and a kitchen with a large fireplace.
Marie-Jeanne Gloanec and her husband Joseph established this pension in 1860, transforming it into a central meeting point for numerous international artists.
The dining room walls displayed paintings created by resident artists, who often exchanged their artworks for meals and accommodation at the pension.
The building now functions as a general bookstore specializing in art publications, open daily from 09:00 to 12:30 and 14:00 to 19:00.
Paul Gauguin resided at Pension Gloanec multiple times between 1886 and 1894, developing his artistic techniques and influencing fellow painters.
