Château Peixotto, 18th-century neoclassical castle in Talence, France

The Château Peixotto stands as a three-story structure with symmetrical windows, decorated cornices, and a central entrance marked by stone columns.

Banker Samuel Peixotto commissioned architect François Lhote to construct this residence in 1760, marking the rise of Portuguese Jewish merchants in Bordeaux.

The interior decorations feature symbolic elements including trophies of harmony and muses above doorways, reflecting 18th-century artistic preferences.

The castle grounds remain open to visitors from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM during summer months and until 9:00 PM in winter.

A garden pavilion built in 1782 contains an artificial island connected to the Ars stream through an intricate water system.
