Maison d'Alphonse Daudet, 19th century villa in Draveil, France.

The two-story villa features a main building with an attic, a right-angled wing, and a paved courtyard surrounded by extensive gardens along the Seine River.

Author Alphonse Daudet purchased this property in 1887 and spent twenty summers there, writing numerous works in his hexagonal brick study within the grounds.

The villa hosted weekly literary gatherings called 'Champrosay Thursdays' where notable figures like Maupassant, Zola, and Rodin met to discuss literature and arts.

The property now functions as a cultural center dedicated to literary creation, offering residencies for French-speaking storytellers and hosting various artistic events.

The original garden workshop was transformed into a reading room and billiards hall, while the gardener's house now serves as an artists' residence and documentation center.
