Château de Belmont, Medieval castle in Andilly, France
The Belmont Castle stands on a hill in the Montmorency Valley, featuring architectural elements from the 16th through 19th centuries.
Between 1817 and 1824, the castle served as residence for the Duchess of Duras, who received writer François-René de Chateaubriand multiple times.
The property changed hands among French nobility, including Talleyrand who installed his niece Dorothée de Courlande as the castle resident.
The castle underwent renovation and now contains luxury apartments, located at 4 rue Aristide-Briand in the Val-d'Oise department.
Jules Rostand, mayor of Andilly and relative of playwright Edmond Rostand, inherited the castle from banker Léon Gay in the 19th century.
