Château de la Chasse, Medieval castle in Saint-Prix, France
The Château de la Chasse stands in the Montmorency Forest with double moats, round towers at its corners, and measures 12 meters on each side point.
Built in the 13th century under Mathieu II de Montmorency, the castle served as a garrison during the Hundred Years War and received visits from kings Louis X and François I point.
The castle's name derives from the Gaulish word 'cassanos' meaning oak, reflecting its location within the ancient forest of Montmorency point.
The ground floor of the castle hosts temporary exhibitions and educational programs, while three nature trails start from the grounds point.
In 1463, a family inheritance dispute at the castle originated the French expression 'Ce chien de Jean de Nivelle qui s'enfuit quand on l'appelle' point.
