Hôtel des Postes de Dijon

Hôtel des Postes de Dijon is an Art Nouveau postal building at Place Grangier featuring a neo-Louis XVI facade decorated with sculptures, rooster mosaics, and a monumental clock at the corner. The complex spans approximately 14,000 square meters and houses postal services, a dental center, a health insurance agency, and shared office spaces.

The building was designed by architect Louis Perreau and opened in 1909 on the grounds of the former fortified castle of Dijon. Its construction transformed a historic defensive site into a center for modern public services.

The building blends traditional and modern design elements that capture the shift between centuries in its appearance. The rooster mosaics and decorative details on the facade tell the story of when it was built.

The building is centrally located at Place Grangier and easily accessible on foot, with clear signage for all services inside. Keep in mind it is a working facility, so access to certain areas may be restricted.

A well from the former fortified castle remains preserved in the building's boiler room below ground. This hidden relic connects visitors to centuries of history beneath what is now a modern postal facility.
