Château Saint-Martial

Château Saint-Martial is a Renaissance-style castle in Jarnac built with stone walls, ornate ceramic panels on its facade, and towers that rise above the Charente River landscape. The building displays the careful architectural details typical of wealthy residences from its era.

The castle was built from 1882 to 1884 by architect Henri Parent for Maurice Laporte-Bisquit and replaced an earlier house owned by the cognac merchant family. This construction reflected the family's economic growth during that period.
