Pic de Baudon is a mountain summit reaching 1266 meters in the Nice Prealps, situated roughly 6 kilometers from the Mediterranean coast. Multiple yellow-marked trails provide access routes from different directions, with the peak offering views across the surrounding hills and toward the sea.
The trails leading to this summit developed from ancient paths that connected medieval villages across the region. These routes were maintained and used by local inhabitants over many centuries.
The summit serves as a central reference point for the mountain villages scattered across the surrounding landscape. The marked paths connect traditional settlements and show how local people have crossed these hills for centuries.
The main route from Peille follows a yellow-marked trail and takes around three hours with approximately 530 meters of elevation gain. Wearing good walking shoes and bringing plenty of water are important for a comfortable experience.
On clear days, visitors can see the coastline from Ventimiglia to Cap d'Antibes with their own eyes from the summit. An orientation table at the top helps identify the various coastal landmarks that come into view.
