The église Sainte-Flaive de Sainte-Flaive-des-Loups is a neo-Gothic church located in the center of the village of Sainte-Flaive-des-Loups, in the Vendée department of western France. It features pointed arched windows with stained glass, a stone facade, and a tower that rises above the surrounding rooftops.
The church was built in 1895 by the architect Libaudière, replacing an earlier place of worship on the same site. Its neo-Gothic style reflects the taste of the late 19th century, when many rural communities across France were building new churches.
The name of the church comes from Saint Flaive, a local saint linked to stories of protection in the area. During celebrations and Sunday services, the organ fills the nave with sound and the villagers gather around it as a shared moment.
The church sits on Rue de la Mairie in the center of the village and is easy to find on foot. It stays open throughout the year and can be visited on any day of the week.
The pipe organ inside the church was installed in 1990, nearly a century after the building itself was completed. Although it is a modern addition, it fits naturally into the stone interior and is played regularly during services and events.
