The Haras de la Roche-sur-Yon is a horse facility in the center of the city, set across green parkland with areas dedicated to horse training and exhibitions. The space brings together traditional stables, training grounds, and event areas where visitors can see horses and riding activities.

The facility started as a national stud farm with a focus on horse breeding in the Vendée region. Over time it became a center for equestrian education and evolved into a public space where people can learn about and watch horsemanship.

The site keeps the name of the national stud farm until 2008, when it became the Haras de la Vendée after the department took ownership in 2006. Its saddlery workshop, known across France, trains CAP saddler-harness maker students under an instructor who is a Meilleur Ouvrier de France. Guided tours also show the conservatory of horses of the world and the horse-drawn carriages of the former Haras nationaux.

Guided tours cover the history, the working saddlery and the carriage collection of the former national stud. Horse-drawn carriage rides run on every open day of the season, and daily equestrian demonstrations take place in spring and summer. In July and August an equestrian show is staged Sunday to Friday on the 4.5-hectare site.

The saddlery workshop is known throughout France and draws horse professionals; its instructor, a Meilleur Ouvrier de France from the national studs, trains CAP saddler-harness maker students there each year. The site also keeps a conservatory of horses of the world and horse-drawn carriages of the former national studs.
