The Église Saint-Laurent de Cavalaire-sur-Mer is a church in the center of Cavalaire-sur-Mer, on the French Riviera. Its facade is plain and unadorned, while the interior is open and welcoming, with light coming in through small windows.
A small chapel once served Cavalaire, depending on a neighboring parish, before the town began to grow. A first church was built in 1910 and then greatly expanded in 1932 as new villas and hotels multiplied around it.
The church sits near the Rue Pierre Rameil, where locals often stop to talk or walk by. During major religious celebrations, the surrounding area fills with parishioners and visitors taking part in processions or attending mass.
The church is easy to reach on foot from the town center of Cavalaire-sur-Mer. Mass times are posted at the entrance, and the parish also covers the nearby town of Rayol-Canadel-sur-Mer.
Although Cavalaire-sur-Mer is known today mainly as a seaside resort, this church was the first permanent religious center of a town that had no real historic old quarter. Its construction directly mirrors the town's shift from a small fishing village to a holiday destination.
