Nature park Žumberak - Samobor Mountains

The protected area spans 342 square kilometers across Zagreb and Karlovac Counties, featuring limestone ridges, caves, streams, and dense forests.

The park contains 34 archaeological sites, with evidence of human settlement dating back to the Neolithic period through discovered stone tools.

Local villages within the park maintain traditional farming methods and celebrate regional festivals, including the Saint John celebration on Sveta Gera.

Visitors can access over 350 kilometers of marked hiking trails and 300 kilometers of cycling routes throughout the natural landscape.

The park houses 140 documented caves, with Dolača cave extending 155 meters deep and 1,262 meters in length beneath the surface.
