Bivak Cave, Natural cave in Esztergom, Hungary
The cave entrance measures 6.8 meters in width and 3 meters in height, located at an elevation of 536 meters above sea level.
Archaeological excavations in 1953 by researchers Jánossy Dénes and Vértes László revealed evidence of human activities and ancient animal remains within the cave.
The cave has served generations of local inhabitants as a shelter, with documented traces of human presence through fire pits and markings on its walls.
Visitors can access the cave through steep rocky terrain within the Duna-Ipoly National Park, where natural light penetrates through the main chamber.
The cave formation includes a natural chimney structure that facilitates smoke discharge, while supporting algae growth on its limestone walls.
