Csévi Cave

Csévi Cave is a protected limestone formation near Piliscsév featuring two entrances that open into spacious chambers. The interior passages connect different sections at varying depths, creating a network to navigate and explore.

Excavations in the early 20th century revealed remains of ancient animals, suggesting this site held meaning for prehistoric people. These discoveries indicate humans used the cave in distant times.

The cave forms part of the Duna-Ipoly National Park within the Pilis Mountains, contributing to local geological research and educational initiatives.

Oversized spiders inhabit the chambers while bats use a natural chimney-like opening as their passage in and out. This living ecosystem shifts with the seasons, making each visit different.
