National Museum of Ireland, National museum in Kildare Street, Dublin, Ireland
The museum spans four locations across Dublin, displaying extensive collections of archaeological findings, decorative arts, natural history specimens, and military artifacts.
Founded in 1877 as the Science and Art Museum, the institution received its current name after Ireland gained independence in the early twentieth century.
The archaeology section presents prehistoric treasures, including the Ardagh Chalice, Tara Brooch, and preserved bodies discovered in Irish peat bogs.
Each of the four museum branches offers free admission to visitors, with the Kildare Street location focusing on archaeology and ancient Irish heritage.
The Natural History building, known as the Dead Zoo, maintains its original Victorian-era display cases containing over 10,000 preserved animal specimens.
