Oak Park, County Carlow, Georgian estate in County Carlow, Ireland
Oak Park House stands as a five-bay, two-story structure with an Ionic portico, surrounded by 700 acres of woodlands and open pastures.
Henry Bruen acquired the estate, formerly known as Painestown, in 1775, and commissioned William Morrison to redesign the house in classical style by 1832.
The estate provided oak timber for the Cathedral of the Assumption's roof in Carlow, connecting the property to regional architectural heritage.
The forest park features 4 kilometers of color-coded circular walking trails, including Butler's Wood Loop and Sally Island Trail, with wheelchair accessibility.
A granite triumphal arch marks the entrance, while an 1810 ice house and Greek Revival mausoleum from 1841 remain within the grounds.
