Tymon Park

Tymon Park is a large public park spanning both sides of the M50 motorway in South Dublin. It features two interconnected lakes, walking paths throughout the grounds, multiple playgrounds, sports facilities, and a designated dog exercise area.

The site developed from several farms that were converted into parkland during the 1970s and 1980s. Its official opening in 1986 established it as an important green space for the growing communities of South Dublin.

The park serves as a gathering place where locals regularly participate in sporting events, live music performances, and community celebrations. Its open spaces and facilities shape how people in the surrounding neighborhoods spend their weekends and leisure time.

The park is easily accessible from Limekiln Car Park, which provides parking and serves as the main entry point to most facilities. Visit during dry weather when the paths and grassy areas are in the best condition for walking and playing.

The River Poddle runs through the grounds creating habitats that support resident swans, kingfishers, and birds of prey. This waterway transforms the park into a meaningful natural refuge within the urban landscape.
