Ballintaggart Ogham Stones, Ancient stone collection in County Kerry, Ireland
The collection consists of ten oval sandstone monuments arranged within a circular enclosure measuring 30 meters in diameter near Dingle Harbor.
The stones, dating from the 5th and 6th centuries, contain inscriptions in primitive Irish language and served as burial markers for the Corcu Duibne tribe.
Each stone bears inscriptions of male names and tribal affiliations, with four stones featuring early Christian crosses alongside their ancient ogham text markings.
Visitors can reach the site by taking the N86 road southeast from Dingle Town and turning right after two kilometers, following signs to the enclosure.
The stones form a circular pattern with eight monuments surrounding a central boulder, displaying inscriptions like GLASICONAS, meaning grey wolf in ancient Irish.
