Midleton Library

Midleton Library sits in an Italianate building with five bays, marked by arched openings downstairs and round-headed windows on the upper floor. A two-stage cupola with clock faces crowns the roof and brings together the building's different architectural layers.

The building started around 1685 as a market house commissioned by Sir St John Brodrick. In 1789, architect John Morrison oversaw a major redesign that gave it the distinctive cupola and modified its appearance.

The library holds collections about local history and serves as a gathering place for writing groups and children's story sessions. You can experience how the community uses this space to stay connected and informed.
