Bayyarat Hannun

Bayyarat Hannun is a historic farming estate with fields spread across the landscape of central Israel. The original agricultural infrastructure remains visible at the site today, shaping how the place looks and functions.

The estate was founded around 1890 by the Hannun family from Tulkarm and grew into a significant settlement. The community developed over the following decades, establishing itself as an important center for farming in the region.

The name Bayyarat comes from an Arabic word meaning orchard, reflecting how agricultural work shaped the daily life of the Muslim and Christian families who called this place home.

The site lies west of Tulkarm near Netanya and remains accessible to visitors today. The historic field layout offers insight into traditional farming practices and how people used the land.

The estate employed Egyptian workers and local Bedouin tribes who together shaped the farming knowledge and work methods. This mix of Egyptian and local expertise influenced how crops were grown and managed over the generations.
