Sha'ar Poleg Nature Reserve

The reserve spans across a diverse area with coastal landscapes, sand dunes, and multiple ecosystems supporting numerous bird species and native plants.

The reserve contains Poleg Stream, which served as a natural passage through rocky terrain, enabling human settlements throughout different historical periods.

The reserve incorporates the Israel Trail segment, connecting visitors to natural heritage while featuring memorials that tell stories of national significance.

Visitors need to bring water, sun protection, and appropriate hiking shoes for the 13.5-kilometer trail that takes approximately six hours to complete.

The reserve includes an Iris Reserve section where specific flower species bloom in February, creating a seasonal display of natural colors.
