Somanatha Pashana Lingeswarar Temple, Timiri, Hindu temple in Timiri, India
The Somanatha Pashana Lingeswarar Temple stands in the center of Timiri, housing a sacred stone lingam measuring six inches in height.
In 1379, Sri Vidhyaranya Swamigal from Sringeri Mutt performed the installation ceremony of the lingam during the Tamil month of Thai.
The temple maintains traditional rituals with daily prayers and ceremonies, drawing Hindu devotees who seek spiritual guidance and healing.
The temple opens twice daily, from 6:30 AM to 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM to 8:30 PM, allowing visitors to participate in morning and evening ceremonies.
In 1985, after 500 years of concealment, the sacred lingam was discovered 32 feet deep in the temple tank, protected by a tortoise-shaped shield.
