Neue Regensburger Hütte, Mountain refuge in Neustift im Stubaital, Austria
Neue Regensburger Hütte is a mountain refuge at 2,286 meters (7,500 feet) in Neustift im Stubaital accommodating up to 101 guests in shared and dormitory rooms. The facility offers several sleeping areas and common spaces for hikers and mountaineers.
Built in 1930, the refuge became a protected monument. It developed into a key stopover along the Stubai High Trail and maintains this role today.
The hut is known for its vegetarian kitchen using regional products and traditional Tyrolean recipes. Visitors can experience how Alpine dishes are prepared without meat here.
The refuge is open from June to October and reservations are available through the official website. Visitors should book ahead, especially during the main hiking season.
A small hydroelectric power station supplies electricity to the refuge, enabling hot showers and modern comforts at this altitude. This setup shows how mountain refuges can operate independently from external supply networks.
