Манастир Трескавац

Trescavac Monastery is an Orthodox monastery located at the foot of mountains with white stone walls and traditional Orthodox architectural features. The complex includes several buildings and a church that form the spiritual center of the site.

The monastery had faded from memory until a bishop discovered an 1888 article mentioning its existence near Kljuc in 2007. This rediscovery marked the beginning of its revival as a religious site.

The monastery serves as a spiritual hub for Orthodox Christians who maintain their religious traditions through daily worship and ceremonies. The monks shape daily life here through their regular rituals and practices.

The site is accessible via the main road leading to Previja and offers a straightforward route to reach it. Visitors should note that accommodation facilities are still under development, so it is wise to plan ahead.

The monastery grounds contain ancient rock-carved tombs spanning different historical periods. These stone remnants range from ancient times through the early medieval era and reveal much about earlier inhabitants of the region.
