Brouwerij Slaghmuylder

Brouwerij Slaghmuylder is a brewery and museum in Ninove that provides visitors access to production areas and a collection of historical equipment. The facility shows all steps of the brewing process, from raw materials to the finished product.

The brewery was founded in 1860 and moved to its current location in 1924, where it was built on the grounds of a former abbey. This relocation marked the beginning of a new phase for the family business.

The brewery is known for its Witkap beers, which have been brewed according to traditional recipes for generations. These varieties have become an important part of local identity and are connected to the region by many visitors.

The site is open to visitors from Tuesday through Saturday, with morning and afternoon time slots available. It is advisable to book in advance since spaces are limited and visitor numbers vary depending on the season.

The family has maintained a naming tradition since the founding in which male descendants begin their names with the letter E. This unusual custom reflects the continuity and commitment that has characterized the business for more than a century.
