Côte-des-Neiges, Multicultural neighborhood in Montréal, Canada.

Côte-des-Neiges is a residential neighborhood on the western slope of Mount Royal in Montréal that stretches from Queen Mary Road to Jean-Talon Avenue. The area displays diverse architecture with varied housing styles and several green spaces scattered throughout.

The neighborhood started as a village in 1862 and changed significantly when James Swail began residential subdivisions on Decelles Avenue beginning in 1876. These early developments set the foundation for the residential area that exists today.

Over 100 ethnic communities live side by side throughout the neighborhood, creating a multilingual environment where different languages are spoken in everyday life. The various cultures shape the local shops, restaurants, and street life you encounter while walking around.

The neighborhood is well connected by public transit with nine metro stations, making it easy to navigate around the area. Several major educational institutions such as Université de Montréal, HEC Montréal, and École Polytechnique are also located here.

Saint Joseph's Oratory is one of the most-visited sites in Montréal and sits high up in this area. From its elevated position, it offers sweeping views across the entire city.
