Glebe Community Centre

Glebe Community Centre is a community center in The Glebe neighborhood of Ottawa with multiple activity spaces spread across different levels. A large domed room called Scotton Hall serves as its main gathering space.

The building was originally built between 1914 and 1924 as St. James Methodist Church before being purchased by the City of Ottawa. This transition allowed it to serve community programs and activities.

The pottery studio and dance spaces draw residents who gather regularly for classes and creative practice. These activities shape the neighborhood's social life and bring people together.

The center is located at 175 Third Avenue in Ottawa and offers accessible entrances, an elevator, and designated parking spots. Air-conditioned meeting rooms make it comfortable for any gathering or activity.

During the 1990s, the city proposed moving the center to Brewer Park, but strong community opposition prevented the relocation. Instead, extensive renovations were completed to keep it in its original location.
