Léchelles is a rural settlement in Fribourg Canton with scattered houses and farmland across rolling countryside. The village forms part of the larger Belmont-Broye municipality and retains a traditional agricultural landscape with fields and forest patches.
The settlement was first recorded in 1243 under the name Leschieres and existed as an independent community for centuries. It merged with Chandon in 1994 before becoming part of Belmont-Broye municipality in 2016.
The municipal coat of arms features a blue background with a white wavy stripe and two stars, representing the union with Chandon.
