Penthes château

Penthes château sits on a nine-hectare estate with landscaped grounds, several pavilions, and conference facilities near Lake Geneva. The property includes the Espace Gallatin for events accommodating up to 250 people and Le Grenier, a venue holding 110 people for performances.

The estate's first written record dates to 1358 as a fortified house belonging to Guillaume de Visencier before being transformed into a manor in 1761. This change marked the shift from a defensive structure to a grand residential home.

The château served as home to the Museum of the Swiss Abroad from 1978 to 2022, displaying exhibitions about how Swiss people and culture spread across the world. Visitors could explore the stories of Swiss communities living beyond their borders.
