A wooden structure occupied this site from the 1990s until wear and structural concerns prompted its replacement with a new version. The current tower was built in the early 2020s.
The observation deck includes an information panel displaying names and illustrations of visible mountains from Säntis to Hohgant in the Bernese Alps.
The tower is accessible from Uhwiesen via a forest path and sits near playgrounds and fire pit areas. The surrounding space suits visitors looking for a light walk with rest opportunities.
