Cholfirst, Mountain summit near Flurlingen, Switzerland
Located at 570 meters above sea level, Cholfirst stands prominently in the Bezirk Andelfingen region of Zurich, offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.
The mountain gained recognition in 1973 when authorities constructed a 96-meter radio tower, replacing a previous 40-meter experimental television transmitter that operated for three years.
The radio tower broadcasts multiple Swiss programs, including DRS 1, DRS 2, and DRS 3, connecting local communities through various media frequencies.
Visitors can access the 42-meter observation deck via a stairway in the radio tower, providing an elevated vantage point over the Swiss countryside.
The construction of the radio tower required an investment of 7 million Swiss Francs, with additional funding allocated for the public observation deck.
