La Soie castle ruins stand on a hillside in Savièse with preserved stone walls and foundations divided into three sections by dry moats. The layout shows different functional areas with gateways and rooms that once served various purposes within the medieval fortification.
The castle was founded around 1200 by Bishop Landri de Mont as a regional stronghold. It was destroyed in 1417 during conflicts over Raron territories.
The ruins draw hikers and history lovers who come to experience the quiet setting and views across the valley. The site reflects how medieval communities organized their defenses and lived in these stone structures.
