Wan Tau Tong Estate

Wan Tau Tong Estate is a public housing complex in Tai Po District made up of three residential buildings that house over 2,600 apartments. The units come in various sizes to accommodate different family needs and living arrangements.

The estate was built in two stages during the early 1990s on land that had been reclaimed from the sea. This two-phase approach allowed the complex to grow in response to housing demand at the time.

The name comes from a village that once stood nearby, connecting residents to the area's local roots. People gather regularly at community spaces to meet neighbors and take part in organized activities.

Getting here is easy since the estate sits about seven minutes walk from Tai Po Market MTR Station with good transport links throughout the area. Nearby you will find schools, shops, and services that residents use for daily needs.

Plans originally called for six buildings on this site, but the design was changed and some structures ended up being built as home ownership schemes instead. This shift shows how housing needs and policies evolved during the construction process.
