Adelebsen, Administrative division in Lower Saxony, Germany.

Adelebsen is a municipality in Lower Saxony situated between the Bramwald and Solling forests, encompassing seven distinct settlements. The area spans approximately 76 square kilometers in a forest-rich region.

The settlement began around 990 with the name Ethelleveshusen, receiving land from Emperor Otto III. In 1234, the von Wichbike family built a castle that became a defining landmark for the region.

The Stone Workers Museum displays the history of basalt mining through equipment, living spaces, and personal accounts of those who labored here. Visitors can understand how this work shaped people's lives in the region.

The area is easily accessible by car or public transportation, with parking available in the various settlements. Spring and autumn offer the best visiting conditions, when weather is pleasant and the forests are particularly inviting.

The castle keep combines pentagonal and hexagonal sections in an unusual geometric form that was extraordinary for the 13th century. This mix of shapes shows early experimentation in castle design that visitors can still observe today.
