Feldafing station is a through station serving the S-Bahn network, built in the Maximilianstil style with exposed brickwork, a flat hip roof, and two symmetrical pavilions joined by side wings. The facility features two side platforms each measuring 210 meters long and 76 centimeters high, with the S6 line operating through the station.
The station opened on 1 July 1865 and was long a stop on the line connecting Munich to the foothills south of the city. Its integration into the Munich S-Bahn network came in 1972, marking a major shift in regional rail transport.
The station building displays red brick walls with stone detailing that reflects the architectural language of its era. It represents a period when railway facilities became community landmarks designed to enhance local prestige.
The station is served by the S6 line and is easy to reach by public transport. Visitors should keep in mind that the open-air platforms can be icy or snow-covered in winter months.
The station was built using stone originally intended for the nearby Possenhofen Castle but never used there. This material reuse makes the structure an unexpected part of several architectural stories in the region.
