Villa Waldberta, Historic villa in Feldafing, Germany
Villa Waldberta stands on an elevated position overlooking Lake Starnberg, featuring a historicist architecture style within a 22,000-square-meter landscaped park.
The villa, constructed in 1902 for banker Bernhard Schuler, was sold to Dutch publisher Albertus Sijthoff who named it after combining his name with his wife Waldine's.
Since 1982, the estate functions as an international artist residence managed by Munich, offering creative spaces for musicians, writers, painters, and other artists.
The residence provides six furnished apartments and two studios for selected artists participating in Munich's cultural projects, with stays lasting up to three months.
During the 1972 Olympics, Chancellor Willy Brandt utilized the villa to receive international guests, including French President Georges Pompidou and Henry Kissinger.
