Berufsakademie Eisenach operates from a protected historic building that once housed the Carl-Alexander School and now offers specialized educational programs. The structure displays classical architecture and serves today as a training facility for fields such as production technology and business administration.

The institution was founded in 1998 as a second location of the State Study Academy of Thuringia, marking an expansion of vocational higher education in the region. In 2016 it became part of Gera-Eisenach Cooperative State University and joined a larger university network.
