Bismarck Tower, Public observatory tower in Remscheid, Germany.
The stone structure rises 30 meters into the sky at an elevation of 340 meters, featuring a design that combines art nouveau with neo-Romanism elements.
Construction of the tower took place between 1907 and 1912 under architect Wilhelm Kreis, who designed numerous similar monuments across Germany at that time.
The tower stands as one of 173 remaining monuments dedicated to Otto von Bismarck, Germany's first chancellor who led the country's unification in 1871.
Visitors can climb the internal iron staircase to reach the observation platform, which provides views over Remscheid and extends to the Rhine River and Taunus mountains.
During the winter holiday season, the tower transforms into a large Advent candle, causing temporary closure from mid-November through January for this special display.
