Burg Wallenfels, Medieval castle in Siegbach, Germany
The stone fortress stands at an elevation of 494 meters above sea level, featuring defensive walls and architectural elements from its medieval construction period.
Built in the early 14th century, the castle declined in the 15th century when its materials were repurposed for the construction of Burg Tringenstein.
The castle remains represent the regional architectural traditions of Hesse, reflecting the military and social structures of medieval German nobility.
Located at coordinates 50.7788°N and 8.44474°E, the castle site can be reached through a single access road connecting to route K 54.
The castle's presence led to the establishment of Wallenfels village, which recorded only 64 residents in 2013, maintaining its rural character.
