Cinespace, Movie theater in Häfen, Germany.
Cinespace is a movie theater in Bremen's Häfen district, located inside the Waterfront Bremen shopping center and spread across several floors. The venue has multiple screens equipped with laser projection and Dolby Atmos sound.
The theater opened in the early 2000s as part of the Waterfront Bremen development, built on the site of a former industrial harbor. It was one of the first large multiplexes to bring laser projection technology to the north of Germany.
The cinema regularly shows films in their original language with German subtitles, which draws language learners and international visitors alike. This makes it one of the few places in Bremen where you can watch a Hollywood or world film without dubbing.
The cinema sits inside a large shopping center on the Weser riverfront, making it easy to combine with a meal or a walk along the water before a screening. Evening and weekend showings tend to fill up quickly, so booking ahead online is a good idea.
A number of screens at Cinespace are fitted with 4DX seats that move and vibrate in sync with what is happening on screen. This type of seating is still uncommon in Germany, and draws visitors who want something beyond a standard film night.
