Schloß Neuhaus

Schloß Neuhaus is a moated castle in Paderborn featuring four wings with round corner towers. The grounds include baroque gardens and a large nature park that surrounds the complex.

The castle was founded in the 13th century as a fortified residence and later became the seat of the Prince-Bishops of Paderborn. It lost its political importance after 1802 when the Prince-Bishopric ended.

The former royal residences now serve as museums displaying art from different periods that reflect how the rulers of Paderborn lived. These spaces show the tastes and interests of those who once called this place home.

The castle and gardens are open year-round, with most visitors arriving during daytime hours. The best time for photography is early morning before larger groups arrive.
