Eyüp-Sultan-Moschee, Islamic mosque in Emden, Germany.
The Eyüp Sultan Mosque features a prayer hall of 130 square meters within a total space of 370 square meters near Emden main station.
The mosque opened in 2009 after local Muslim community members acquired and converted a former restaurant building through a foreclosure sale in 2008.
The mosque, managed by the Turkish-Islamic Union DITIB, provides a dedicated space for around 200 worshippers, including separate areas for men and women.
The renovation of the building into a mosque required an investment of 130,000 euros, collected through donations from community members.
The first mosque established in East Frisia serves approximately 1,300 Muslims in Emden, eliminating their previous need to travel to Papenburg or Oldenburg.
