Ostfriesisches Landesmuseum Emden

The Ostfriesisches Landesmuseum Emden is a regional museum in Emden that documents East Frisian history and culture through collections of artworks and everyday objects. The exhibition spans several galleries with paintings, archaeological finds, and historical pieces from different time periods.

The institution was founded in 1820 when six citizens of Emden joined together to collect and preserve artworks and regional antiquities. The museum moved to its current building in 1962, where it has displayed its expanded collection ever since.
