The Ostfriesisches Landesmuseum spans 3,000 square meters of exhibition space, displaying artifacts and artworks that represent East Frisian heritage and culture.
Founded in 1820 by six citizens of Emden who formed the Society for Fine Arts and National Antiquities, the museum opened its current location in 1962.
The museum houses Dutch paintings from the 16th to 18th centuries, along with everyday objects that illustrate regional life through different periods.
Located a 10-minute walk from the train station, the museum welcomes visitors Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM with various ticket options.
The collection includes the Bernuthsfeld peat bog body, weapons from the Emder Armory dating back 400 years, and the silver treasure of Emden.
