Euro-Industriepark Munich, Industrial complex in Freimann, Germany.
The Euro-Industriepark is a large commercial district in Munich's Freimann and Milbertshofen neighborhoods with numerous retail stores and wholesale markets. The area spans several hundred hectares and is defined by large functional buildings, wide roads, and expansive parking areas.
The site was founded in the early 1960s by merchant Anton Ditt, who purchased the land from Deutsche Bundesbahn. The park developed according to American planning principles and became a major commercial center during the post-war period.
The park displays the design language of the 1960s with clean rectangular buildings and flat roofs laid out for vehicle access. This approach shaped how commercial spaces were created at the time and remains visible in the site's layout today.
The area is well connected by public transportation, with multiple bus lines linking the park to Munich's network. Visitors should allow plenty of time for walking, as distances between buildings are considerable.
The park was home to the first Media Markt store, which opened in 1979 and marked the beginning of what became a major European electronics retailer. This early location played an important role in the company's growth into a leading seller across the continent.
