Saint Nikolaus parish church in Bad Wildungen

The Saint Nikolaus church stands on a terrace supported by stone walls, featuring a three-nave structure with a central tower completed in 1489.

Construction of this Hessian Gothic hall church began around 1300, with the high altar consecrated in 1306 and main structure completed in the late 14th century.

The Wildunger Altar, created by Conrad von Soest in 1403, displays 13 detailed images of Christ's life across its 7.60-meter width using gold and ultramarine colors.

The church contains 43 organ registers across three manuals, with some components dating back to the original 1857 Walcker organ, renovated in 2011.

A triangular chapel extends from the choir's south side, while the Geismarsche Grabkapelle on the north served as a burial site between 1483 and 1505.
