Kurschattenbrunnen

Kurschattenbrunnen is a public fountain in Bad Wildungen featuring a central cluster of nude figures with water spouts emerging from them. Additional bronze sculptures are positioned in the surrounding basins, creating a unified sculptural composition.

The fountain was inaugurated in 1987 as a new artistic addition to Bad Wildungen. Its construction connected the old town with the spa district, reflecting the town's investment in its public spaces during that period.

The fountain depicts scenes from the daily life of spa visitors through its bronze figures. The sculptures show people observing and lingering, capturing moments typical of a spa town atmosphere.

The fountain is located on Brunnenstrasse and serves as the center point of the spa promenade. Walking trails in the surrounding area are easily accessible from this location and well marked.

A distinctive feature of the fountain is the shadow effect cast by one bronze female figure onto another. Depending on the sun's position throughout the day, different silhouettes emerge that change the fountain's appearance.
