Tiergarten Straubing

The Tiergarten Straubing extends across 18 hectares of land, providing habitats for more than 2,000 animals from 201 different species, including mammals, birds, and reptiles.

Since its establishment in 1937, the zoo has transformed from a small animal park into a modern conservation facility that participates in numerous European breeding programs.

The zoo organizes educational programs throughout the year, teaching visitors about wildlife protection while supporting international conservation projects across multiple continents.

Visitors can access the zoo daily between 9:00 AM and 5:30 PM, with the last admission occurring 30 minutes before closing time.

The Danube Aquarium section features seven display tanks containing 100,000 liters of water, showcasing 40 fish species native to the Danube River ecosystem.
