Inrather Berg, Mountain summit in Krefeld, Germany
Inrather Berg is a summit in Krefeld that rises to about 87 meters above sea level, making it the highest point in the city. Wooded slopes can be accessed through hiking trails that connect the area.
The hill formed after World War II when debris from destroyed buildings in Krefeld was dumped at this site. This post-war construction resulted in the elevated landform visible today.
Local residents call this place Monte Klamotte, a name that reflects its origins in post-war building rubble. The green spaces that now cover the slopes show how the hill has become part of the city's landscape.
The Blaue Linie hiking route passes over the area and connects several access points. The route to the top is fairly short and easy to walk.
Although made from war rubble, it is one of only four such elevations in Krefeld. This makes the hill a rare feature of the city's terrain.
