König Palast, Indoor arena in Krefeld, Germany

König Palast is a multipurpose arena on Westparkstraße in Krefeld, built opposite the older Rheinlandhalle. Its long facade of ribbed grey-green metal and glass carries large red lowercase letters reading "König PAlast", with white-outlined lettering and red vertical banners. A flat-roofed entrance band on cylindrical columns projects over a paved forecourt, and a broad curved band of continuous glazing runs above the entrance beneath the flat roofline.

The city council decided on 1 February 2001 to build a new arena on Westparkstraße, and Hochtief Construction AG was commissioned with the Düsseldorf office RKW Rhode Kellermann Wawrowsky as architect. The first sod was turned on 27 August 2003, and the topping-out ceremony followed on 7 May 2004. The hall opened on 4 December 2004 with a Sarah Connor concert; the first DEL match, Krefeld Pinguine against Eisbären Berlin, drew over 7,500 spectators on 17 December 2004.

The arena is home to the Krefeld Pinguine, who moved here from the Rheinlandhalle in December 2004; their first DEL match, against the Eisbären Berlin, drew over 7,500 spectators. Since 2018 the Deutschland Cup national tournament has been held here. The name changed from KönigPALAST to Yayla-Arena on 1 January 2019, when the Krefeld-based Yayla Türk GmbH took over sponsorship from the Duisburg König brewery.

Standing places are on the north and south stands, while about 4,642 seats and 199 business seats on the main stand make up the rest; 22 boxes hold 418 guests. For concerts the ice surface is covered with insulating floor panels, so the hall seats up to 9,500. The arena stands on Westparkstraße, opposite the older Rheinlandhalle.

The arena's facade is made of cast-glass elements that can be lit in different ways depending on the event. For concerts and other non-ice events, insulating floor panels are laid over the ice surface. The building was designed by the Düsseldorf office RKW Rhode Kellermann Wawrowsky, and the planners deliberately sought to carry over the "Hexenkessel" effect of the old Rheinlandhalle.
